Banana Bread Syrup for Coffee

This banana bread syrup for coffee will have you never going to another coffee shop again! I know this is a bold claim, but you can make a fun coffee at home that tastes better, has better-for-you ingredients and isn't packed with artificial junk. Making homemade coffee syrups is one of my favorite recipes to make. I have created so many flavor variations at this point that I basically consider myself a barista. My personal favorite way to use it is to make it into a banana cold foam latte!

  • 1 pot

  • 1 mashed banana
  • 3/4 cup coconut sugar
  • 3/4 cup water
  • dash sea salt

Notes

RECIPE TIPS:
  • Use ripe, spotty bananas! The riper the banana, the more natural sweetness and flavor.
  • Simmer low and slow to avoid burning the syrup.
  • Taste as you go and adjust the flavor to your preference. You can add more cinnamon or sugar if you prefer a sweeter syrup.
  • If you want smooth syrup, mash or blend!
