I know this is a bold claim, but you can make a fun coffee at home that tastes better, has better-for-you ingredients and isn't packed with artificial junk. Making homemade coffee syrups is one of my favorite recipes to make. I have created so many flavor variations at this point that I basically consider myself a barista. The best part is that it's made with refined sugar-free and better-for-you ingredients, but it doesn't taste like it is AT ALL! It's naturally gluten-free, dairy-free and free of any artificial colors, flavoring or preservatives. It's great to prep for the week and keep in your fridge!

Ingredients You'll Need
- Banana: The flavor base for this syrup!
- Sugar: I like to use coconut sugar or date sugar to keep this recipe refined sugar-free. It also gives it great flavor.
- Water: Dissolves the sugar and helps create the syrup's liquid base.
- Sea salt: Balances the flavors!
- Cinnamon: Adds to the flavor profile!
- Vanilla: Adds flavor and warmth to this syrup.
Recipe Variations
- Sweetener: I like to use coconut sugar or date sugar, but you can also use regular sugar, maple syrup or honey. If you are using liquid sweetener, I would recommend using a little less. You can also adjust the amount of sugar depending on your preferences.
- Spices: I used cinnamon, but you can also play around with pumpkin spice, nutmeg, cardamom,
- Thickness: Skip the strainer to get a chunkier syrup with little banana bits that's good for pancakes or waffles.
- Flavor: Add citrus for a little zest!
