My Top Favorite Allergy-Friendly or Health Conscious Spots in Chicago

November 20, 2022 by Lauren Leave a Comment

    1) Beatrix

There are several of these located throughout the city. Beatrix is one of my favorite restaurants. They have allergy-friendly and health conscious options! They also have an absolutely delicious gluten-free and vegan chocolate chip cookie. Their fries are some of my favorite in the city as well!

    2) Juice Rx

Juice Rx has a wide variety of organic cold-pressed juices. It’s one of my favorite spots in the city to frequent, especially during the summer. They also have smoothies, acai bowls and other delicious eats!

    3) Vaca’s Vegan Creamery

I am obsessed with Vaca’s! Everything they serve is vegan and they also have gluten-free and vegan cones (which are delicious btw). They have a binder full of ingredients readily available. The majority of their flavors are oat-based and they have a rotating flavor that may be coconut or nut-based. Vaca’s recently opened a second location in Chicago so be sure to visit!

    4) Ema and Aba

Hands down my favorite restaurants in Chicago. I prefer Aba’s atmosphere but Ema’s menu is my favorite. Lettuce Entertain You restaurants have always been great with my allergies. The menu consists of spreads, dips and mezze and Mediterranean small plates. Everything I have tried at either restaurant has been absolutely delicious! They are both great date spots!

    5) Sweetgreen

I love how health conscious Sweetgreen is! I typically build my own salad. Please check with your allergist to determine whether this type of restaurant is safe for you to eat at.

    6) RealGood Stuff Co

RealGood also has several locations throughout Chicago! They have delicious smoothies and their Noyo Froyo is a fun treat!

    7) Hi-Vibe

One of my favorite things about Hi-Vibe is that they serve their organic juices in glass bottles. The owners are amazing and understanding of different restrictions! I love their kill shots and their matchas are delicious. They use homemade nut mylk without any fillers or oils, which is so important to me!

    8) Ingrained

I have been a fan of Ingrained granola since before the storefront even opened! They do an incredible job of creating plant-based, organic, gluten-free, refined sugar-free, soy-free and functional treats. Plus, their treats are absolutely gorgeous! Their mission is very aligned with my values and I love what they are doing! Highly recommend trying out their bars and cinnamon rolls.

    9) Avli Chicago

Avli is a modern Greek restaurant in Chicago with absolutely delicious food. There are a handful of locations throughout Chicago and they have been accommodating with my food allergies.

    10) Bright Bowls

Ok so, this one is located in the suburbs, but I had to include it. Bright Bowls makes the most gorgeous gluten-free, dairy-free and organic smoothie bowls using high-quality ingredients. My personal favorite is the Legally Bronze!

As always, everyone with food allergies or restrictions must do their own research to determine what restaurants are safe for them and their specific allergies!
