As a histamine intolerant girl, I cannot wait to share this Low Histamine Nut Butter with you guys. It comes out creamy, rich and you can make it in less than 10 minutes. Made with minimal ingredients, it has zero fillers, preservatives or thickeners and is way cheaper than store bought versions. It’s so easy to make at home and has the most luscious texture. I love to drizzle it over warm gluten free toast, blend it into smoothies or layer it with fresh fruit and gluten free cookies for an easy dessert or snack. Homemade macadamia nut butter is decadent and rich and an easy swap to make if you’re trying to go low histamine. If you’re looking for more low histamine recipes, try my Creamy Low Histamine Pesto and this Low Histamine Ranch Dressing. I’ve compiled a whole article on what I’ve learned and experienced with my Low Histamine Diet if you want to dive into that.

Making your own nut butters from scratch can save you money, for sure!

This nut butter is super versatile. You will use it in and on everything so double up on the recipe if you can!

    Macadamia Nut Health Benefits

These rich and creamy nuts are more than just delicious. They are loaded with good-for-you fats that support a strong heart. Aside from the good fats, macadamia nuts are packed with vitamin E, fiber, magnesium and manganese.

In the context of this article, they are also considered low histamine.

They are easy to incorporate in your daily/weekly diet: eat them as a snack, blend them into a butter, chop and roast them as a salad or pasta topper.

    Equipment Needed

The only kitchen tool you’ll need is a food processor to blend up the nut butter.

    Ingredients Needed

Macadamia nuts: These nuts are naturally high in fat and particularly soft, so they blend up really easily.

Sea salt: Brings out the flavors of the macadamia nuts in this Low Histamine Nut Butter.

    Step By Step Instructions

Step 1: Round up your salt and macadamia nuts.

Step 2: Add your salt and macadamia nuts and pulse in the food processor until smooth.

    Storage

Store your Low Histamine Nut Butter in a glass jar or container. You can either keep it at room temperature for about a week or store it in the refrigerator. It will keep in the fridge for about 2 weeks.

Give your nut butter a stir before using it, as the nut oil and blended bits might naturally separate.

You can also freeze it for about 3 months.

    Variations

You can use other nuts like Brazil nuts or hazelnuts for a slightly different version.

Sometimes, harder nuts might need to be soaked first, depending on how powerful your blender or food processor is. Macadamia nuts are naturally softer than most nuts, so they blend up.

Try flavoring your Low Histamine Nut Butter by adding some cardamom or a little vanilla to it if you tolerate those!

If you want to sweeten the butter, blend in 1 tablespoon of maple syrup.

    How To Serve

Oh my goodness, the list of how to serve this low histamine nut Butter is endless.

    • Spread it on a slice of warm, gluten free toast!
    • Drizzle it over smoothie bowls or oatmeal
    • Blend it into your smoothies
    • Stuff it inside dates
    • Bake it into baked oat breakfasts or Chia Parfait recipes
    • Add it into your salad dressings for extra nourishment and creaminess
