    Equipment Needed

All you need to make this animal face toast is a knife!

    Ingredients Needed

Bread: Feel free to use your favorite bread! I used gluten free bread because I am gluten free!

Nut or seed butter: I used sunflower butter here to make this allergy-friendly, but you can use any kind of nut butter!

Chocolate nut or seed butter: I used chocolate sunflower butter for this animal toast to make it allergy-friendly.

Fruit: For this animal toast, I used banana, strawberries and blueberries, but feel free to get creative with it!

    Step-By-Step Instructions

    Step 1: Gather your ingredients.

Step 2: For the bear face: Spread regular sunflower butter on 1 piece of toast. Add 2 banana slices for ears at the top. Add 2 blueberry eyes and a banana nose at the bottom. Add a blueberry on top of the banana to complete the nose.

For the monkey face: Spread chocolate sunflower butter on 1 piece of toast. Cut 2 banana slices in half. Add 2 half slices for the ears on each side of the toast. Add 2 slices for the mouth at the bottom. Place 2 blueberries at the top to make eyes.

For the dog face: Cut the edges of 1 piece of toast to make “ears”. Spread regular sunflower butter on the toast. Add a chocolate sunflower spot to make a dog with a spot around his eye. Add a blueberry on top of the spot and another next to it to make eyes. Add a strawberry nose and paint on the mouth with chocolate sunflower butter.

For the cat face: Spread regular sunflower butter on a piece of toast. Add 2 strawberry slices at the top for ears. Add 2 blueberries for eyes. Add another strawberry for a nose. Paint whiskers using the chocolate sunflower butter.

    Storage

Store this animal face toast in the refrigerator in an airtight container for 4-5 days. These toasts do taste best when assembled and consumed immediately though!

    Variations

Nut and Seed Butter: Feel free to use any variety of nut or seed butter you love! I used sunflower butter but get creative with peanut butter, pecan butter, almond butter or cashew butter.

Chocolate Nut or Seed Butter: If you can’t find this at the store you can mix in cacao powder and honey to make sweetened chocolate sunflower or nut butter!

Fruit: Feel free to get creative with the fruit you use! Switch it up by trying out grapes, raspberries, apples or oranges.
