    Why You'll Love This Recipe

    It's so easy to make!

This recipe takes only 5 minutes to throw together.

It's gluten free and dairy free.

These apple nachos are super kid-friendly.

You only need a few ingredients to make them!

    This recipe is very customizable!

It makes the perfect after school or after work snack.

    Equipment Needed

All you need to make these apple nachos is a knife, cutting board, plate, spoon and small bowl.

    Ingredients Needed

Apples: You can use any kind of apple for these apple nachos! I like to use Honey crisp or Granny Smith apples!

Nut Butter: I used almond butter for this recipe, but feel free to use any kind of nut butter that you love. If you are nut free, you can also use sunflower butter.

Chocolate: I used dairy free chocolate because I am dairy free!

Coconut Oil: Coconut oil helps make the chocolate easy to drizzle onto these apple nachos!

Toppings: The topping options are endless for these apple nachos! I used coconut flakes on mine.

    Step-By-Step Instructions

    Step 1: Gather your ingredients.

Step 2: Slice your apples and arrange them fanned out on a plate.

Step 3: Melt the chocolate and coconut oil in a bowl. An easy way to do this is microwave it in 30 second intervals.

Step 4: Drizzle apple slices with chocolate and nut butter.

Step 5: Top with coconut flakes and other toppings of your choice!

    How to Pick an Apple

Look for color, but don't rely solely on it: While ripe apples will have their characteristic vibrant colors (red, yellow, green or a combination), some varieties retain green even when ripe. If you're unsure, ask an orchard worker for guidance.

Feel is key: Give the apple a gentle squeeze. It should be firm and crisp, but with a slight give. Avoid mushy apples or those that feel rock-hard.

    Storage

I doubt you will have any leftovers, but if you do you can store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days! I also think this snack tastes best fresh and the apples will brown if you put them in the fridge, but they're still totally fine to eat!

    Variations

Apples: You can use any kind of apple for these apple nachos! Try out red delicious, gala, fuji and more! You can also try a mixture!

Nut Butter: I used almond butter but try out pecan butter, macadamia nut butter, pecan butter, walnut butter or sunflower butter.

Chocolate: I used dark chocolate but you can use white chocolate as well!

    Toppings

The topping options are endless for this snack! Try using cinnamon, hemp seeds, chia seeds, chocolate chips, coconut flakes, almonds, granola and/or sprinkles! Get creative with it!
