Why You'll Love This Stir Fry

    It's so easy to make!

It takes less than 30 minutes to make.

This is the perfect weeknight dinner.

    It's packed with fresh ingredients!

This dish is nutrient-dense and wholesome.

It's naturally gluten free and dairy free.

    This meal is super family-friendly!

    Equipment Needed

All you need to make this gluten free chicken stir fry is a pan, cutting board and a knife. I used a cast iron pan!

    Ingredients Needed

Oil: I like to use avocado oil here because it has a high smoke point.

Chicken: I used organic chicken breast. My favorite place to get my meat and fish is ButcherBox because they have organic and high-quality options and it gets delivered right to your door! You can also use chicken thighs in this recipe.

Vegetables: I used garlic, ginger, carrots, red pepper, onion, broccoli and zucchini. Feel free to use any vegetables you love!

Salt: My favorite salt is Redmond's Real Salt because it is high-quality and made with zero fillers. If you use my discount code LESSWITHLAUR you can get 15% off Redmond's website.

Sauce: Traditional soy sauce contains soy and gluten. For sauce, I used honey and also Kikkoman Umami Joy sauce, which is similar to a soy sauce but it is gluten free and also soy free. The flavor of this stir fry is honey garlic!

    Step-By-Step Instructions

    Step 1: Gather your ingredients.

    Step 2: Chop your vegetables.

Step 3: Add the garlic to an oiled pan and sauté over medium heat until lightly browned.

Step 4: Cut chicken into cubes and add into pan. Add salt. Cook for 10 minutes.

Step 5: Add vegetables, stir and cook until lightly browned and chicken is done.

Step 6: Pour honey and Umami Joy Sauce into pan and cook for 2 more minutes. If desired, serve on top of rice and enjoy!

    Storage

If you have leftovers, feel free to store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 4 days. This is a great meal to make for dinner and then eat for lunch the next day.

    Variations

The variation options for this gluten free chicken stir fry are endless!

Swap out chicken breasts for chicken thighs!

Swap out your vegetables. Try out snap peas, mushrooms, bok choy, water chestnuts, baby corn - the options are endless.

Add bean sprouts, bamboo shoots, or chopped nuts for texture.

Include diced jalapeños, chili flakes or sriracha for heat.

Toss in sun-dried tomatoes, artichoke hearts, olives and kalamata olives.

Mix and match soy sauce, rice vinegar, fish sauce, sriracha, honey, brown sugar, sesame oil, ginger, garlic and spices to create your own unique blend.

    How To Serve

Serve this gluten free chicken stir fry over white rice, brown rice, quinoa, gluten free noodles or cauliflower rice. Sprinkle with sesame seeds, chopped cashews, fresh herbs or a fried egg for extra flavor and texture.

    Recipe FAQ

What makes this stir fry gluten free?

The main component of stir fry that may not be gluten free is usually the sauce. I used Kikkoman Umami Joy Sauce, which is gluten free. I also added honey and garlic to this stir fry to create a honey garlic flavor.

What other veggies can you use in this stir fry?

The options are endless. Try using squash, snap peas, cabbage, bok choy, mushrooms, asparagus or green beans!

Is this stir fry also dairy free?

Yes! As long as your sauce is dairy free, this stir fry is dairy free.

Is this stir fry nut free?

Yes! This gluten free chicken stir fry is also nut free as long as you use a nut free sauce.

    Can you freeze this meal?

I would not recommend freezing fully cooked stir fry. If you are looking for a hack, using frozen vegetables and rotisserie chicken for this recipe can cut down on preparation time.
