    Sesame-free hummus

Why You'll Love this Sesame-Free Hummus

    It's allergy-friendly (duh).

This hummus is incredibly creamy and smooth.

    It's a great high-protein option.

It is homemade so you can use better ingredients than store-bought versions.

It makes for the perfect snack.

You can experiment with different flavors and fresh ingredients!

    Equipment Needed

All you need for this recipe is a high speed blender or a food processor. I recently purchased a Ninja Food Processor and I LOVE it.

Ingredients Needed for This Sesame-Free Hummus

Chickpeas: There are several options when it comes to chickpeas. You can buy them canned, jarred or boxed. You can also purchase them dried chickpeas (which honestly make much better hummus too). If you have issues with histamine, I would definitely recommend purchasing them dried. Soak the chickpeas overnight to make them more digestible and then cook them!

Olive Oil: What's great about making homemade hummus is that you get to control what kind of oil you are using. No weird oils here! I highly recommend using olive oil for this recipe (organic if possible).

Garlic: I highly recommend using fresh garlic here, but you can also use garlic powder if you don't have any on hand.

Lemon: Lemon juice makes this sesame-free hummus taste so light and refreshing!

Salt: My absolute favorite salt is Redmond's Real Salt because it has simple, clean and real ingredients. I have linked it here and you can get 15% off with code LESSWITHLAUR.

Spices: This recipe is super adaptable! Adding different spices can change up the flavor. I like to add rosemary, paprika and/or red pepper flakes to give this sesame-free hummus some extra flavor.

Ice Cubes: I know this seems strange, but it makes the hummus extra creamy!

Sunflower Butter: I LOVE sunflower butter and the flavor it gives this sesame-free hummus. If you are not a fan, feel free to leave it out! You can also swap peanut butter, cashew butter or another nut butter of your choice. This gives the hummus an extra creaminess!

How to Make This Creamy Sesame-Free Hummus

Combine all ingredients in a food processor or high speed blender until creamy.

    Substitutions and Variations

This recipe is super adaptable. You can definitely experiment with the spices to create a delicious flavor profile. You can also add in some hot sauce or buffalo sauce to give it an extra kick. The flavor options are honestly endless. Tahini who? We don't need her.

    Storage

This sesame-free hummus is best stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about 5 days.
