If you're looking for a hearty and flavorful way to start your day, this Turkey Breakfast Hash is it! This isn't your average breakfast - we're talking a delicious and satisfying combination of savory ground turkey, vibrant vegetables and perfectly seasoned potatoes. It's the perfect way to use up leftover turkey, but it's so good, you'll want to make it even without leftovers! This hash is quick, easy and endlessly customizable, making it a week-day morning lifesaver or a weekend brunch staple.

Breakfast can be so hard when you are eating gluten free, dairy free, egg free and focusing on protein. It is almost easier to just eat traditional lunch and dinner meals for breakfast. I tend to hyper fixate on different breakfasts and eat them for weeks at a time before getting bored and switching. I am working on adding new breakfast ideas to my page and being more adventurous! Breakfast ideas are something I get a ton of requests for. Many breakfasts can be packed with sugar and are not the best way to start your day. This breakfast is both nourishing and incredibly tasty. It's also kid-friendly and makes the perfect meal prep for the week. If you love this dish, you will also love my breakfast sausage patties, chia and flaxseed pudding and chicken sausage hash.

    Equipment Needed

All you need to make this turkey breakfast hash is a pan and a spatula.

    Ingredients Needed

Ground Turkey: I used ground turkey for the protein in this turkey breakfast hash.

Seasoning: I used salt, pepper and garlic powder to season this hash. You can also add additional spices if you desire!

Vegetables: I used celery, carrots and onions in this recipe. I used frozen vegetables to make this recipe super easy.

Potatoes: I also used frozen potatoes to make this recipe super quick. Feel free to use fresh potatoes if that is easier!

Sauce: I used pesto to top this turkey breakfast hash. This helps to make it super flavorful!

Oil: I used oil to cook this turkey breakfast hash. My favorite is avocado oil. I love the brand Chosen Foods.

    Step By Step Instructions

    Step 1: Gather your ingredients.

Step 2: Add ground meat, salt and garlic powder to an oiled skillet and cook on medium heat until lightly browned.

Step 3: Add in frozen vegetables and potatoes and cook until browned.

    Step 4: Add desired sauce!

    Storage

Store this turkey breakfast hash in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-5 days!

    Variations

Meat: I used ground turkey in this breakfast hash, but feel free to try another meat. You could also use ground beef or ground chicken.

Vegetables: I used celery, carrots and onion but you can use any vegetables you desire! Try adding broccoli, asparagus, zucchini or mushrooms!

Sauce: I used pesto to top this breakfast hash. You can also try hot sauce, buffalo sauce, marinara sauce or dairy free cashew cheese.

Potatoes: I used frozen shredded potatoes to make this super quick and easy. You can also try using sweet potatoes, purple potatoes or red potatoes!

Spices: I kept it simple with the spices, but feel free to use red pepper flakes, paprika, rosemary or chili powder!

    How to Serve

A breakfast hash is a wonderfully versatile dish! Here are some ways to serve it, from simple to more elaborate:

    • Top with cheese: Sprinkle some shredded cheese (vegan if needed) over the hash while it's still hot so it melts.
    • Add a sauce: A dollop of yogurt (vegan if needed) salsa or a drizzle of hot sauce can add flavor!
    • Garnish: Fresh herbs like parsley, cilantro or chives add a pop of color and freshness.
    • Wrap it up: Spoon the hash into a warm tortilla for a breakfast burrito or taco.
    • Serve in a bowl: For a cozy and comforting meal, serve the hash in a bowl.
    • Hash Bar: Set up a hash bar with the cooked hash as the base and offer a variety of toppings like sauces and herbs so everyone can customize their own.
