These easy and flavorful Honey Balsamic Brussels Sprouts are the perfect addition to your Thanksgiving table and holiday sides list! Roasting Brussels sprouts and pairing them with a drizzle of good quality balsamic vinegar is an easy way to give these simple sprouts an upgrade! They make such a great side dish.

I don't think I ever had a Brussels sprout until I was around 20 years old. My parents never made them for us growing up and I'd heard stories about how gross they were. Out of the blue, one day, I tried them at a restaurant for the first time and loved them! Brussels sprouts are definitely a vegetable that has to be cooked the right way in order for them to taste good. I now actually LOVE them and regularly incorporate them into my diet. In my opinion, they need to be crispy or incorporated into a shaved salad and they must have a good sauce or dressing. I love that they are easily made gluten free and dairy free also!

    Why You'll Love This Recipe

I love that these Honey Balsamic Brussels Sprouts are refined sugar free, made with no butter and just a drizzle of honey and balsamic! So easy.

They come out crispy and flavorful with no parmesan!

This sheet pan recipe is perfect for your Thanksgiving table or anytime of the year, really. Nothing beats a one pan recipe!

They're so easy to make, you can add them to your weeknight dinner meal plan!

This recipe has the most delicious sweet and salty glaze that's insanely easy to make.

I promise this will make the Brussels sprouts skeptics fall in love with this underrated vegetable!

    Ingredients Needed

Brussels sprouts: You can prepare them by roughly chopping them into bite-sized pieces.

Honey: I love using honey, but maple syrup is a good alternative for these Honey Balsamic Brussels Sprouts if you need one.

Balsamic vinegar: I like to use a good quality balsamic as the flavor really shines in this recipe!

Garlic powder: Optional, but I love it as a savory seasoning for these.

Salt: Seasoning is key, so don't skip the salt!

Find exact ingredients and quantities in the recipe card.

Step 4: Roast until crispy, for about 20 minutes and then they are ready to serve!

    Storage

You can prepare these ahead up until the point of cooking them. They will keep in the fridge for 48 hours and you can then roast them when ready.

Leftovers are good in the refrigerator for about 3 days. I don't recommend freezing them as the freezer will impact the texture.

    Variations

Add bacon or diced and pan-fried pancetta to your Honey Balsamic Brussels Sprouts.

Sometimes I use maple syrup instead of honey!

Try different veggies like cauliflower or broccoli. The same process can also work for asparagus or green beans but you'll need to reduce the cooking time for the asparagus and keep them whole.

    How To Serve

Here are a few ways I like to serve mine:

    • Alongside Thanksgiving and holiday mains like turkey, ham and salmon.
    • Cold or room temperature as a salad topping.
    • With other sides like sweet potato casserole and green bean casserole.

    Recipe FAQ

Why are my Brussels sprouts not crispy?

For best results, dry your Brussels sprouts before seasoning them and space them out so they don't overcrowd the pan.

Can I use frozen Brussels sprouts?

You can if that's what you have at home, but I recommend using fresh instead. If you are going to use frozen Brussels sprouts, thaw them and dry them properly first.

Do I need to blanch the Brussels sprouts first?

No, blanching them isn't necessary. Roasting them directly helps them crisp up beautifully. If however, you struggle to digest them, I would suggest blanching them first.
