To add a touch of creaminess and richness, we've included crumbled feta cheese (dairy-free if needed) and roasted hazelnuts, which provide a satisfying crunch. This pretty salad is not only delicious but also incredibly versatile - you can easily add a protein like grilled chicken or roasted salmon to make it a hearty main dish!

    Why You'll Love This Salad

It's so easy to throw together!

It is made with minimal and wholesome ingredients.

This salad is packed with fresh produce.

    It tastes like fall!

This dish is easily made gluten free and dairy free.

This fall salad with apple is super versatile and can be served as a side or a main dish with protein added.

It is perfect for a weeknight dinner, get together or Thanksgiving!

    Equipment Needed

All you need to make this fall salad with apple is a bowl and a blender if you are making the dressing homemade.

    Ingredients Needed

Arugula: Arugula is the base of this fall salad with apple. Arugula adds a peppery, slightly bitter flavor to the salad. Its tangy taste contrasts nicely with the sweetness of the honey crisp apple and the creaminess of the feta cheese.

Apples: I used honey crisp apples in this salad. These add sweetness and a crunch!

Pomegranate Seeds: Pomegranate seeds add a burst of sweet-tart flavor to the salad. Their bright red color also makes the salad visually appealing.

Hazelnuts: Hazelnuts add a nutty flavor, a satisfying crunch, and a touch of richness to the salad. They also provide healthy fats and fiber.

Avocado: Avocado is a popular ingredient in salads because it adds a creamy texture, a rich flavor and healthy fats.

Feta: Feta adds flavor and a creamy texture to this salad. I used dairy free feta because I am dairy free!

Dressing: I made homemade honey lemon garlic dressing for this salad, but you can also use store bought dressing!

    Step-By-Step Instructions

    Step 1: Gather your ingredients.

Step 2: Add arugula to a bowl and layer each ingredient.

Step 3: If making dressing from scratch, combine all ingredients in a high-speed blender.

Step 4: Drizzle dressing on top and serve!

    Storage

Store this salad in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 4-5 days. Store salad separately from the dressing and add dressing when you are ready to eat!

    Variations

Lettuce: I used arugula for this fall salad, but feel free to use spinach or kale instead.

Apples: I love using honey crisp apples, but gala, pink lady or fuji would also work.

Feta: I used dairy free feta, but feel free to also use regular feta or a different type of cheese.

Nuts: I used roasted hazelnuts, but walnuts or pecans would also be delicious.

Avocado: If you are looking for a swap for avocado, try adding egg or chickpeas!

Dressing: I love using my homemade dressing, but feel free to add store bought dressing to this fall salad with apple instead!

    How to Serve

Here are some ways to serve your fall salad with apple:

As a side dish: Serve the salad alongside grilled chicken, roasted salmon or a hearty grain bowl.

As a main dish: Add a protein like grilled chicken or roasted salmon to the salad to make it a complete meal.

As a party appetizer: Serve the salad in small portions as a bite-sized appetizer.

As a lunch or dinner salad: Serve the salad in a larger bowl as a main course.

As a potluck dish: Bring the salad to a potluck or party and serve it family-style.
