Make a big batch of this hearty and satisfying Beef Breakfast Sausage (Sheet Pan) recipe. I love how deliciously seasoned they are and that they’re incredibly easy to make. As you know, there are certain ingredients I steer clear of and making homemade sausage means you can control the ingredients. Make them ahead of time, as part of your breakfast prep! They are great as a protein-packed meal that you can enjoy throughout the week. The whole family will love this savory, filling recipe! Why you’ll love this recipe

Ideal for breakfast prep, plus, you can freeze them! I like to batch prep them and keep some in the fridge and extra in the freezer.

My beef breakfast sausage recipe is gluten and dairy free.

Sausage meat can be dry but these come out super juicy thanks to the honey!

They’re incredibly delicious – loaded with spices and yummy veggies. The apple gives them a really fresh flavor.

This recipe and flavor combination is super unique!

I made them in under an hour and there was hardly any dishes to wash!

Easy to reheat – like, in minutes.

    Equipment needed

For this Beef Breakfast Sausage Sheet Pan recipe, I used a cutting board and knife to prepare the veggies. I also used a baking sheet and a mixing bowl.

    Ingredients needed

Ground beef: I like to use a high quality beef that is organic and grass-fed!

Garlic powder: Using garlic powder adds flavor and makes this recipe quick and easy!

Honey: Balances the savoryness of the ingredients. You could also use maple syrup.

Honeycrisp apples: I love the fresh pop of fruity apple flavor in this breakfast recipe.

Potatoes: Potatoes make this sheet pan more hearty!

Fennel bulb: The slight licorice flavor is SO delicious. You can swap these with celery or leeks if you don’t like fennel.

Sweet onion: For flavor balance, sweet onion is more palatable for me in the mornings.

Cinnamon: Ground cinnamon is great with the honey and apple flavor!

Salt: My favorite is Redmond’s Real Salt because it is high-quality and made with zero fillers. If you use my discount code LESSWITHLAUR you can get 15% off Redmond’s website.

Avocado oil: I love its neutral flavor and high smoke point!

    Step by step instructions

Step 1: Round up your ingredients and preheat your oven to 425°F.

Step 2: Prepare your apples, potatoes, onions and fennel by chopping them up.

Step 3: Toss the apples in cinnamon and add them, with the vegetables, to a baking sheet. Pour over the avocado oil and season with salt.

Step 4: Add the ground beef to a bowl along with honey and garlic powder.

Step 5: Roll 1 -1 1/2 inch meatballs. Place in gaps on the baking sheet.

Step 6: Roast for 35 minutes or until the veggies are browned and the beef is cooked.

    Storage

Store your leftover beef breakfast sausage recipe in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Make sure to let everything cool completely before storing.

If you want to plan ahead, you can mix the meatball mixture and keep it in the fridge, covered, for 24 hours before rolling up the meatballs.

Both the cooked and uncooked beef mixture can be frozen for up to 3 months.

    Variations

Fiber boost: Fold in 2-3 grated zucchini for extra veggies and fiber.

Spicy: If you love a little heat, add in some red pepper flakes and a dash of hot sauce.

Extra herby: I like to pick fresh herbs from my little kitchen herb station and add them in. Herbs that work well include fresh thyme, rosemary or Italian parsley.

    How to serve

Here’s how I love to enjoy my Beef Breakfast Sausage recipe:

    • Serve them warm for a cozy breakfast meal.
    • Pair this breakfast sheet pan with a side of fruit or yogurt!
    • When I need something a little extra, I pair this with a smoothie like my Strawberry Cloud Smoothie.
    • This recipe makes a great meal prep for the week ahead!
