This protein hot chocolate is super customizable.

    It uses simple ingredients.

    Equipment Needed

All you need to make this protein hot chocolate is a pot, spoon, mug and measuring cups and spoons.

    Ingredients Needed

Hot Chocolate Mix: I used a reishi hot chocolate mix for this recipe because it has so many benefits! I love this mix by Blume!

Milk: I used dairy free milk in this recipe because I am dairy free! You can use any milk you love!

Vanilla Extract: Vanilla extract adds a delicious warming flavor to this hot chocolate!

    Variations

Hot Chocolate Mix: I used a reishi hot chocolate mix, but you can also use a regular one!

Milk: I used almond milk in this recipe but you can also use cashew milk, coconut milk, soy milk or oat milk! I used dairy free milk because I am dairy free, but you can also use regular milk.

Protein: I used chocolate protein in this recipe, but you can also use vanilla, mint chocolate, peanut butter or any other protein you love!

Toppings: I used whipped cream to top this protein hot chocolate but you can also use marshmallows, sprinkles, chocolate chips, caramel, candy canes or any other fun toppings you love!

    How to Serve

Here are some tips and ideas:

    • Mug Choice: A large, wide-mouthed mug is perfect for hot chocolate. It allows for ample toppings and provides a comforting feel. Pre-heating your mug with hot water while you make the hot chocolate keeps the drink warmer for longer.
    • Toppings: Whipped cream is a classic for a reason! Consider adding marshmallows (regular, mini or toasted), chocolate shavings, a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg or even a drizzle of caramel or chocolate sauce.
    • Presentation: Garnish with a sprinkle of cocoa powder or a chocolate-covered coffee bean for an extra touch.
    • Flavor Boosters: Add a splash of peppermint extract or almond extract!
    • Gourmet Toppings: Think outside the box with toppings like shaved dark chocolate, a swirl of homemade marshmallow fluff or a sprinkle of sea salt.
    • Layered Goodness: Create a layered effect by adding a layer of whipped cream, chocolate sauce and then more hot chocolate.
