Make my Sweet Potato Sliders if you’re looking for a loaded, delicious and cute way to serve up mini burgers. These sweet potato sliders are flavorful and so easy to make. With roasted sweet potato buns in place of bread, they’re the perfect gluten free burger bun alternative that also happens to be paleo, dairy free and totally kid friendly. They’re great when I’m hosting a Super Bowl party, prepping for game day or want a fun appetizer that looks fancy. They’re also ideal for any BBQ, casual dinner or weekend get-together. Each slider is comforting, satisfying and made with real, wholesome ingredients that your whole crowd will love! Pile them high with topping or pair them with a side salad or veggie fries. WHY YOU’LL LOVE THIS RECIPE

Sweet potato rounds make the perfect bun swap—no bread needed!

Mini size + build-your-own toppings = so much fun!

Mix up the toppings, sauces or meat to suit you.

Roast the sweet potatoes and cook the patties ahead—assembly is quick and easy.

Whether it’s a party, lunchbox or casual dinner, these sliders are an easy option.

They are super dietary inclusive, ticking the box for dairy free, gluten free, vegetarian and paleo.

The combination of sweet potatoes and meat is delicious!

    EQUIPMENT NEEDED

    I used a pan and a baking sheet – seriously, a low-mess recipe!

    INGREDIENTS NEEDED

Sweet potatoes: Choose two large sweet potatoes with smooth skin and minimal blemishes.

Ground beef: I try to use grass-fed and grass-finished beef whenever possible!

Avocado oil: I love using this neutral-flavored oil for cooking.

Salt, pepper and garlic powder: Simple seasonings go a long way – these are all you’ll need.

Guacamole: Creamy, flavorful and packed with healthy fats—guacamole adds a delicious richness.

Tomato: Choose ripe and juicy tomatoes for your sliders.

Onion: Thinly sliced red or white onion brings crunch and a bit of zing. You can serve it raw for bite or sauté it for sweetness.

Ketchup and mustard: Classic condiments that round out the slider experience—let kids choose their favorites or swirl both together for a flavor twist.

    STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1: Start by preheating your oven to 400°F and gathering everything you need.

Step 2: Slice the sweet potatoes into thick rounds and arrange them on a baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt. Roast for about 35 minutes, or until they’re golden and tender.

Step 3: While the sweet potatoes are roasting, shape the ground beef into 1½-inch mini patties. Season them well and cook over medium heat until they reach your preferred level of doneness.

Step 4: Use the sweet potato rounds as buns, sandwiching the mini patties and your favorite toppings in between.

Step 5: These sweet potato sliders are best enjoyed warm, straight off the pan.

    STORAGE

Store any leftover sweet potato sliders in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

For best results, keep the elements (sweet potato rounds, patties, and toppings) separate and assemble just before eating.

Reheat the sweet potatoes and patties in the oven or a skillet to keep their yummy texture.

    VARIATIONS

Swap the ground beef for ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option that’s still packed with protein.

Use black bean patties or grilled portobello mushrooms – I love adding extra veggies.

Add a slice of dairy free cheddar, pepper jack or mozzarella between the “buns”.

Add some hot honey or sriracha to balance the sweetness of the sweet potatoes.

Top with pineapple slices and a spoonful of salsa. So good!

    HOW TO SERVE

Gosh, there is so much you can do with this recipe – here’s how I love to serve these Sweet Potato Sliders:

    • To make this part of a bigger meal, I like to pair it with a salad like my Spring Pasta Salad.
    • It’s a great game day snack alongside my Gluten Free Buffalo Cauliflower Bites.
    • Set out all the toppings buffet style and let everyone build their own sliders. Great for picky eaters and group meals!
    • Make a batch ahead and enjoy throughout the week—just reheat and layer with your favorite toppings.

    RECIPE FAQ

What is the best sauce to use on these?

Guacamole, ketchup, mustard or a spicy mayo all work great.

Can you make sliders with regular potatoes?

Yes! Just slice and roast them the same way, but keep in mind they’ll be less sweet than sweet potatoes.

Can you use a different meat in the sliders?

Absolutely—try ground turkey, chicken or even a plant-based option like black bean patties.

What can I serve with these?

Serve with a side salad, veggie sticks or baked fries for a fun and balanced meal.

What are the best toppings to add?

Tomato slices, onions, cheese, lettuce, pickles and avocado are all delicious slider toppings!
