I love that this refreshing recipe is family friendly and works for every kind of gathering from a simple BBQ to a more extravagant party. Make this in the summer when stone fruit is at its best. I dove head first into my box of perfectly ripe and sweet peaches from Tree Ripe Fruit which were the absolute star in this no bake recipe. The flavors are fresh and the textures, luxurious.

    Equipment Needed

All I needed for this Peaches and Cream recipe was a trifle bowl and a cutting bowl and knife to prepare the peaches with. If you’re crushing your Graham crackers, a rolling pin and ziplock bag are helpful.

    Ingredients Needed

Peaches: This Peaches and Cream recipe is best when you make it in season with perfectly ripe and juicy.

Coconut whipped cream: This makes the perfect whipped and creamy layer that’s also dairy free!

Graham crackers: You’ll need them crushed for the crunchy layer.

    Step By Step Instructions

Step 1: Round up and prepare your ingredients – crush the graham crackers. Pit and slice the peaches.

    Storage

This Peaches and Cream recipe will keep for a few hours, but it is definitely best served freshly made.

If you’re going to make it an hour or so ahead, keep it in the refrigerator.

Peaches and whipped cream is not a freezer friendly recipe.

    Variations

You could add other ingredients or play around with the toppings. Layer in some toasted coconut, chopped nuts or seeds or drizzle in some maple syrup.

Turn your Peaches and Cream recipe into a breakfast dish but switching the coconut whipped cream with a combination of yogurt and whipped coconut cream. You could also use a plant-based yogurt to keep this recipe vegan.

Garnish with pretty, edible flowers or fresh mint if you like.

    Recipe FAQ

    What cream goes with peaches?

Typically, an old fashioned peaches and cream recipe is made with dairy whipped cream or mascarpone – for the delicious dessert that everyone loves. For my take on a Peaches and Cream dessert I’ve used a coconut whipped cream which is light, creamy and a little tropical tasting.

Can I make this gluten free?

Yes, all you need to do is make sure to use gluten free graham crackers. I like to use the mini Simple Mills ones!

Why are peaches and cream a thing?

Peaches and Cream are a thing because the combination of juicy, ripe peaches with cool, pillowy soft cream is the perfect refreshing and satisfying combination. The natural and fresh taste of the peaches isn’t overpowered by the cream.

Can you use canned or frozen peaches in this peach whipped cream recipe?

You can, yes. Just make sure the canned peaches are well drained, first. Adding the syrup to the dessert can make the cracker crumbs go soggy. I definitely prefer fresh peaches though!

Can I make this ahead of time?

You can make it an hour or two ahead, yes. Too far ahead and the cracker crumbs will become soggy and soften. Some people like this but I prefer the crumbs crunchy and crisp.

Can I add other fruit to this dessert?

Yes! Fresh strawberries or tart raspberries will work beautifully with your Peaches and Cream dessert.

What else could I use instead of graham crackers?

You can use crushed cookies instead of graham crackers.
