The Viral Shaved Frozen Fruit snack is the most delicious and luscious hot summer day treat. It has a refreshing and light texture similar to a snow cone, except it’s made with three wholesome and simple ingredients. You can make it in 5 minutes, and all you’ll need is some frozen mango and strawberries, along with a little honey, to make this creative treat! This treat is gluten free, dairy free and super allergy-friendly! I am going to be making this all summer long! Want more frozen sweet treats? What Is The Viral Frozen Fruit Ice?

The viral frozen fruit ice is whole pieces of frozen fruit that are “shaved” or grated with a microplane to make a light and airy fruit slush.

    Equipment Needed

You’ll need a microplane grater for this recipe and any bowls that you are going to serve this treat in.

    Ingredients needed

Strawberries: You’ll need a bag of frozen strawberries.

Mango: Grab a bag of frozen mango or a whole mango and freeze it.

Honey: To sweeten up your shaved frozen fruit recipe. I love drizzling it on the top!

    Step By Step Instructions

    Step 1: Grab your ingredients.

Step 2: With a microplane, grate the fruit over a bowl. I suggest using a pair of gloves to protect your fingers.

Step: Pour over a little honey and dive in!

    Storage

You can freeze leftover Viral Shaved Frozen Fruit, BUT you can expect the texture to change. It will become a little icy and lose its light consistency. I recommend eating it immediately for best texture and flavor!

    Variations

Add a squeeze of lime on top!

Use frozen peaches and raspberries and serve with some toasted almonds.

Freeze some full-fat coconut milk in ice trays and then shave that instead of the strawberries. Top the mango and coconut shaved frozen fruit with a dusting of matcha.

    How To Serve

Ah man, I could eat this all day long!

    • Enjoy it as a dessert, a snack or even first thing in the morning.
    • Eat by the pool!
    • Pair it with chilled water and my Fruit Ice Cubes or a glass of Prosecco Sangria.
    • Serve viral shaved frozen fruit as the perfect summer dessert.

    Recipe FAQ

What kind of grater or microplane should I use?

A fine, handheld grater is best.

Can you eat this the next day?

For a lusciously light, airy texture, I suggest eating it straight away.

What kind of fruit can I use in this recipe?

Besides strawberries – mangos, peaches, bananas, pineapples, kiwis, blueberries or cherries are all great. Just freeze them overnight or use frozen fruit!

What other toppings could I add to this recipe?

I like to add chia seeds, granola, toasted coconut, toasted nuts or mini chocolate chips.

Is there added sugar in this recipe?

There is no added sugar (as in granulated sugar), but there is the addition of honey. You can leave the honey out if you prefer!
