I love this healthified copycat chicken snack wrap - it's gluten and dairy free too, plus it's made with real ingredients. I used to beg my parents to stop at McDonald's on the way home and get a snack wrap, ha! Since they stopped serving them, I had to make my own version and this one gives me all the nostalgic feels. They're also so easy to make that you'll hardly need a recipe. For more copycat recipes, try my In N Out Burger, this recipe for gluten free hamburger helper or Big Mac potato skins.

    WHAT'S A MCDONALD'S CHICKEN SNACK WRAP?

A McDonald's chicken snack wrap is a menu item made with a warm flour tortilla wrapped around a portion of crispy or grilled chicken and a choice of sauces, like ranch or honey mustard. The wrap often has fresh lettuce and shredded cheese.

    WHY YOU'LL LOVE THIS RECIPE

This chicken snack wrap recipe is packed with protein!

A delicious homemade snack or lunch to make at home.

If you're like me and crazy about crunchy textures, you'll love how the chicken turns out perfectly crispy.

A fun, handheld meal that kids will love. Plus, it's easy to get them involved in making it!

Make a batch in advance for quick lunches or snacks throughout the week.

Whether you're craving something spicy, tangy or classic, this recipe can be easily adapted.

This meal is easy to make gluten free and dairy free!

    EQUIPMENT NEEDED

You don't need much, just a baking sheet, 2 bowls and measuring cups and spoons.

    INGREDIENTS NEEDED

Chicken tenders: These cook up quickly and stay juicy. You can also use chicken breast sliced into strips if you prefer.

Breadcrumbs or crushed crackers: These add a crunchy coating to the chicken. I used Simple Mills crackers!

Avocado oil: A great choice for cooking due to its high smoke point and mild taste. It helps get a golden, crispy crust on the chicken.

Ranch dressing: You can swap it for honey mustard, chipotle mayo or any sauce. I used dairy free ranch because I am dairy free! Be sure to try my homemade dairy free ranch recipe!

Shredded lettuce: Adds freshness and crunch to the wrap. Iceberg or romaine works well for a crisp bite, while butter lettuce is softer.

Shredded cheese: Cheddar, Monterey Jack or a Mexican blend are great. This is totally optional! If you are dairy free, feel free to use dairy free cheese.

Tortillas: Soft and pliable, these act as the base of the wrap. I use gluten free tortillas, but whole wheat or low-carb options work, too.

    STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS

    Step 1: Gather your ingredients.

Step 3: Assemble wraps with chicken, lettuce and ranch. Add cheese if you like.

    STORAGE

Store leftover chicken tenders in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Keep tortillas, lettuce and ranch dressing separate to maintain freshness.

To reheat, warm chicken in the oven or air fryer to keep it crispy. I avoid microwaving, as the chicken snack wraps come out soggy.

    VARIATIONS

    • Honey mustard: Use honey mustard instead of ranch in your chicken snack wrap.
    • Southwest style: Add black beans, corn and a squeeze of lime.
    • Bacon ranch: Sometimes I add crispy bacon for extra crunch!
    • Caesar wrap: Replace ranch with Caesar dressing and add parmesan cheese for a Caesar salad taste.
    • Greek flavors: Swap ranch for tzatziki (dairy free if needed) and add cucumbers and feta. I love this version!
    • Spice: Add some buffalo sauce or hot sauce!
    • Protein: Try a different protein like steak or salmon!

    HOW TO SERVE

There are tons of ways to serve my yummy chicken snack wrap.

    • With a side: Serve with baked sweet potato fries, a fresh salad or veggie sticks.
    • For dipping: Have a bowl of extra ranch, buffalo sauce or honey mustard on the side.
    • As a snack: I love serving this as individual wraps when I have friends round who need a quick bite.
    • In a lunchbox: Pack the wraps in a container for an easy-to-eat, on-the-go lunch.

    RECIPE FAQ

IS THIS A MAIN DISH OR SNACK?
It can be either! With the right portion size, it can be a satisfying snack or a light main dish.

CAN I USE GRILLED CHICKEN IN THIS CHICKEN SNACK WRAP RECIPE?
Yes, grilled chicken works great for a healthier option. Just make sure to season it well to match the wrap's flavor profile.

    ARE THESE WRAPS GLUTEN FREE?
If you use gluten free wraps then it will be gluten free. Same goes for the sauces and crumbs.

    ARE THESE DAIRY FREE?
These wraps are not dairy free unless you skip the cheese or use a dairy free alternative. Ranch dressing typically contains dairy, so a dairy free dressing would be needed as well.

CAN I USE A DIFFERENT PROTEIN?
Absolutely! You can swap the chicken for other proteins like turkey, tofu or even beef.

    WHAT PAIRS WELL WITH IT?
Fries, a crisp salad, coleslaw or fresh veggie sticks like carrots and celery are great sides to complement these wraps.

HOW DO I MAKE SURE THE CHICKEN IS CRISPY?
To ensure the chicken stays crispy, bake it in the oven or air fryer. If you're frying, use a deep fryer or pan fry the chicken tenders to get a golden, crunchy coating.
